Sandy, watery world with and imperial citadel tower, she remembered.She was so glad her father trusted her for such an important mission .Commandeering the Tantiv IV once again ,she raced across the galaxy.She knew her mission was to collect some stolen plans for an imperial weapon and take them back to rebel command, but nothing else, and trusted that her father didn’t either..The Rebellion had been revealed in its full force to the empire, they had seen what they were up against.What was going to surprise the Empire today, was Alderaan’s support to this Rebellion.She remembered Kier…and almost instantly tried to take her mind away from it.She needed to focus.She was afraid but energised, prepared for whatever came next.From the cockpit she heard Captain Antilles calling,”Coming out of hyperspace in 3,2,1″.Bam!The ship shook as a true battle, came into view.Leia couldn’t tell who was winning, all around her, she saw destruction and devastation.Was this what it was going to take to push back the Empire?She was brought back to her ship when they received a transmission from Admiral Raddus.He was sending them the plans for the weapon. Lieutenant Batten and Captain Antilles both cast her sideways glances as she gave the order to jump back into hyperspace.She knew what she was doing, they’d just narrowly escaped Darth Vader and she wasn’t going to risk being captured again. Yes, this was what it was going to take to push back the Empire and she was ready.These plans were vital to the survival of the Rebellion so she had to get them back to Yavin 4 for analysis, no matter how many lives were being lost on Scarif. She had Hope.

He entered the Pub on Takodana and was instantly greeted by a loud shout from behind the bar.”Han Solo!”, she said as she came around to get them some seats. Maz was the last person who you’d expect to be Han Solo’s friend.She believed strongly in the force and was old and wise.Exactly what he needed at the time.He had just won a ship, fastest in the galaxy and suddenly a popular target for Hutt bounty hunters.He told Maz about the bounty Jabba had placed on his head and was not satisfied by the reply he received.”Han, why do you run from them.You cannot run forever.Running from the Empire, running from these bounty hunters, at some point you have to stand up and fight.I don’t fight anymore, but I used to.I was a skilled warrior when I was young and am no longer, but you are.I will never understand how a young man like you with so much…potential courage can just run away from his responsibilities.You are the future Han.People like you are the ones who will push back the Empire and bring peace and security back into the Galaxy.”

“Ummm…yeah Maz, I was thinking more like, do you know any places where Chewie and I could, you know, lay low for while, just till we can get them off our scent and then we’ll be right off.Defeating the Empire…totally!This is just, temporary.Safety measures, you know…”

“I don’t like all this secrecy captain.How can we be trusted if we are so deceptive?”she remarked as they jumped onto the royal Naboo cruiser.“Your highness, it is my duty to protect you at all costs.That sometimes means taking other risks for the mission”,he replied, but the look on her face suggested she didn’t appreciate it.

“I am well aware of your duties and mine but I still do not believe that many will trust us if they do not know the whole truth.The Jedi must know. Sabé can not go on pretending forever. Eventually, they will find out, and they will no doubt be disappointed. I do not wish to be the cause of that.”Noting her concern Captain Panaka reasoned…“How about I be the cause for that my lady?I admit they will find out, but for now, I do not believe that two Jedi’s disappointment should be the cause for compromising your security”

“Sometimes I wonder if I truly can disobey you,Captain.”

“You are the Queen Padmé , the final decision is yours, this is simply advice.”

“And I welcome it, but I must retire.”Smiling, they parted ways and she headed for her quarters.She was only now beginning to realise the complications and restrictions of the throne but she was a fast learner, so she thought she would be ok.

“Eirtaé !”,she called as she entered the room…”It’s good to see you.Since we’re going to Coruscant with the Jedi I need you to prepare yourselves for anything.The odds are against us but we must not loose hope.The senate may still side with us.Senator palatine is a wise man, and I trust nobody more than him, to get us out of this. Sabé , I am deeply sorry that I must continue to use you as my decoy, but Captain Panaka believes it is imperative for our safety.I must thank each of you, for your courage and service . We will free Naboo, I promise you ”

Lesson Three

Luke’s third lesson for Rey was a test.To see if she could open her mind to the force and if she had the will of a true Jedi.He tells her there’s a fire raging on the far side of the island and then goes about his business.Conflict!Pain!Death!she heard, but did not feel.She rushed to save them, without stopping to think.She Raced across the shore at full speed.If Luke wasn’t going to do anything,she would have to be the one to save this sacred island.She arrived at a local party with warm fires crackling merrily in every hut.She was disappointed.Not only in Luke,for his misinformation, but in herself.If she wanted to be a Jedi,she would have to start acting like one…thinking like one.”I shouldn’t be mad at him”,she told herself as she walked back to the temple,”it wasn’t his fault.This was a test, and I failed.”

Lesson One

Rey was training with Luke on Ahch-To and after sensing the Balance and the light side of the force she noticed the dark.It offered her something that she wanted so she yielded and gave herself up to it.She didn’t even try to resist.

He’d seen this raw strength only once before, in Ben Solo.It didn’t scare him enough then, but it did now.
