The Giver

She was alone. And then there was a child. A boy with brown hair and deep dark eyes that reflected the stars. She didn’t understand how it happened, and the others refused to believe that there was no father.

A child born into slavery. She wouldn’t have wished such a fate upon anyone. And yet she carried him, gave birth, raised him, and promised that he would have the life he deserved. The best life that his little mind could dream of. No matter how her own fate changed through the years, through all the pain and anguish, she never lost hope. No matter what, she woke each morning, believing that it would be the day her son would begin the life that he was destined for. So she prepared him. Taught him to be good and to be quiet, and work hard; just as she had all her life. Because she knew that that was the only way they could survive.

She bottled up all the anger and resentment, all the frustration she’d ever felt, and buried it deep down inside her where he would never see it. She had to. She had to be strong, for him.

He was special.

And then one day when she thought things could never get worse, the Jedi came. And she watched as they rode out into the sunset with her little boy. She watched as her light in the darkness, her hope, her shining star on the darkest night, disappeared beyond the horizon.

And back to normal she went. There was no time to be upset, no time to be thankful, no time to be at ease. She had to be strong, for him.

She would see him again someday…some day after he’d seen the galaxy and travelled across the stars.

Stop Wars

~from the clones

War. It breaks you. Crushes the mind. Torments the soul.

Adrenaline rush. Fire. Run. Scream.

Fire, burning all around. Silence.

We were forged by it. Forged for it.

War runs deep through our veins. Our training is in our blood. We were made to fight and then…

Don’t be fooled by colours and lights and flashing ships…they’re on fire. Laser swords cutting down their victims, they scream in agony, there’s blood.

The stars hold this truth. They hold our history and our fate. They hold our stories…so many stories. Of victory, yet of pain, suffering, death.

We spent years killing for a cause that didn’t exist. We watched millions of our brothers die, and each time, we died a little too. Every drop of blood spilled, spilled millions of times over from each and every one of us. We are woven together in ways no one could understand. But then one unexpected, unprecedented day, we were turned from flesh and blood to machines within a second, and as though we had no minds to think, we let go. Like robots they took control of us and we fired. Just fired. Until every last one of them lay dead upon the floor—backstabbed , murdered in cold blood.

In a pile of robes and blood we watched each Jedi’s life force drain away, one after the other, after the other. I watched them drain away.

Fade into nothingness, just like me.

We were used. Used for a sick purpose we never could have guessed. There was a rumour years ago about Arc Trooper ‘Fives’ from the 501’st, they said he knew what was going to happen, but the chap killed himself cuz no one believed him…not even general Skywalker.

We thought we were intelligent. Thought we were better than those seppie droids. Truth is we were just the same. We were nothing. We were just like them but with the pain and awful memories of war. They were at piece when it was done, shut down.

We’re alive, but not living. Left with nothing…

Loyalty

For years his people were enslaved, his planet was attacked, his family kidnapped. But even when all hope seemed lost, he kept fighting. His name was Chewbacca.

He faught a war alongside the Jedi to liberate his planet, and he lost. He faught the empire against enslavement, and he lost. He had almost given up…but one day he met a yound man full of life and the energy Chewie had been lacking for so long. This man taught him how to hope again. His name was Han, Han Solo.

Finally, he was free. The mighty Chewbacca, wookie general and feared hunter, finally saw the stars. Han and Chewie journeyed across the stars side by side for decades. There were inseperable till the day Han died.

And still, the wookie fought on. He forever owed it to the man who had saved his life all those years ago to keep fighting. It was his duty to honour the lagacy Han had left behind.

Because a wookies greatest strength, is loyalty.

He Was My Master

~From Ahsoka Tano

He was my master, my brother, my best friend. No matter what, he always protected me, always supported me, and always trusted me.I had never known a feeling like that before I met him. It’s the purest form of love there is. The ability to put someone elses needs before yours and always look out for them.To be there to lift them up when they fall and and stand strong by their side through all life’s challenges. That was Anakin to me.Even when all the jedi doubted me, he believed in me.Even when everyone thought I was guilty, he trusted me, and went out of his way, and against the council to help me.He was the best friend you could ever have.He was so good, too good, Obi-Wan sometimes said…but that was Anakin Skywalker.Even as a boy, Padmé says he knew nothing of greed, and all he wanted to do was help people. He always gave without any thought of reward. He cared deeply about his friends, and looked out for them until the end.

   ****

Recently, I encountered a Sith lord, I had never encountered him before but still I sensed something familier in him.A presence I hadn’t felt since the Clone Wars…since I last saw Anakin. And so I meditated, and what I discovered, I refused to believe. All the pain, all the hate, all the anger I had ever felt or sensed poured into me.That horribly cold presnce you can sense only from someone consumed by evil. And it pierced through my heart like a dagger.I was just beginning to believe I knew who he was behind that mask, but it was impossible.Whoever this person was, he had attacked my master, slaughtered him, and burried him somewhere no one would ever be able to hear him.Somewhere so deep that even the slightest feeling of his love, warmth and kindness would never be sensed. This man had betrayed and murdered Anakin Skywalker. My master could never be this vile. This sick transformation of body and mind was NOT him. Even the thought of it was unthinkable…

Aunt Beru

“Luke! Luke!”, she called.

That boy…Always running off somewhere.Either to Mos Eisley to meet his friends or to the canyon to take his little ship out for a spin. But what could she do?How could she stop him?She knew he was more than a farmer, more than some simple boy.He was special, like his father, but that scared Owen so much he wouldn’t let the boy live…

It always made her so sad to see him out there on the farm, staring out at the horizon, and looking to the stars. He was meant to be up there, flying. But Owen still wanted to hold on to him for as long as possible, and she never understood why. They both knew Luke was going to leave some day, and she had a feeling it would be sooner than later.

Quietly, she hoped for that day, hoped his life would be better, and that he would be free.

He absolutely hated being stuck there, and she smiled sadly, thinking; he had too much of his father in him.

It Ends Where It Began

On a planet with twin suns, there was a boy.He was trapped, but his destiny lay elsewhere, and he yearned to fly among the stars. And by the will of the force, he did.He trained as a Jedi and fell in love. But one day, he was engulfed by a shroud of darkness, and Darth Vader was born.

Years later, his son Luke stared out towards horizon. He was always looking to the future, to the suns.He was trapped, but his destiny lay elsewhere, and he yearned to fly among the stars. And so he did; the force led him to his sister, best friend and his new family. And in the years to come, he fulfilled his destiny. His father was redeemed.

He was destined to save space, and he did; but then he was gone.

And after years of fighting, of love and war, Luke too, layed to rest.Once again, staring out at the twin suns.

The circle is now complete. The journey is coming to a close.Every generation has a legend, and as always, it ends where it began.

The Cold

The Darkness.The Power.The Cold.

It made him strong, made him, special. He was the master now.Master of Evil, of the Sith, and of the whole galaxy. And he was on a mission, in service of the Empire, his Empire. And yes, it was a service, to show people that if you don’t hope for too much, you will never be disappointed. He’d learned this the hard way, and was simply making the lesson easier for all those poor souls out there. In all his years, he had never felt more…purposeful.

He remembered Tattooine; that dreadful planet he only wanted to forget. That giant dust ball that took everything from him, the sands were merciless. And the Jedi too, they had deceived him into believing he could be something, be someone. But he was foolish to trust them, just as it was foolish to trust anyone…

In a flash…he saw, Ahsoka crying. His mother dying in his arms, Obi-Wan screaming in pain.Padmé…Padmé…A tear trickled down hi cheek-Then all of it was gone.

He’d had his revenge; and was enjoying the luxury of ignoring his heart.

Bounty

Han Solo.Finally.He had captured Han Solo.He breathed a sigh of relief before he jumped into the pilots seat and started mumbling to himself and frantically flipping switches and jabbing buttons…”shields…weapons…hyperdrive…fuel…navicomputer…”, he’d got clearance to leave. He ran through all the preflight checks again before he fired up the engines and was off.He was so full of nervous excitement, he forgot to make the jump into hyperspace…

Out of nowhere!!blaster fire was raining down on his ships starboard side!He swore loudly and turned the ship around to get a better look at his attacker. It was too soon for Solo’s rebel friends to have followed him…He saw an old cornelian ship; like the one owned by his captive, Han Solo, it was heavily modified.Combat guns, advanced shields…the whole deal. This ship belonged to a fellow bounty hunter who used to be his friend, Bossk…he scoffed, thinking about loyalty.…but now was no time to dwell on the past, he had a mission to compete.

He swerved, fired, turned, dodged, rose, fell, bla bla bla…this fight was going nowhere; but he was, and he needed to leave now.He diverted power to the rear shields and started calculating the jump to hyperspace; wishing he had a droid and ignoring the ominous creaking & vibrating of his ship.

“Aaa…ha!”, he yelled in triumph as he pulled the lever back and made the jump.Off he was again, cruising peacefully once more through those oddly calming blue spirals. He could worry about the damage to his ship once he reached Tatooine…for now, for once, he could relax.

Master Yoda

Fear, irrational it is.Clouds our minds it does; controls us, overcomes us.Fight it, only the strongest, most disciplined mind can.Fear leads to anger, anger leads to hate, hate, leads to suffering…

And what a great suffering it was.So consumed we were, with winning, hm!, but see, we could not, for what we were fighting.See we could not, who was really winning.Pawns had he made us, in his silly game.

And so we fell, the Jedi, our great religion, after hundreds of years, watched it crumble do the ground I did…A pain, unbearable it was.But caused by our foolishness it was.Forgot who we were, did we.Forgot what we were.

Luminous beings are we, not this, crude matter.Flesh and blood, hmph!Part of an energy are we, part of the force. The greatest gift this is, and misused it have we…but no more.

Rest I need, yes, rest. sighs

Twilight is upon me; for 800 years have I trained Jedi; but soon, night must fall.A few short years do I have left to live, to ponder over my pain and suffering, and to finish, one last mission.

A new hope has risen.

Twin Suns

It ends where it began, a planet with twin suns.He remembered being a young boy on Tattooine, longing to leave.Alway’s looking away, to the future, to the horizon; to the suns. That boy was was innocent.Oblivious to most of the galaxy around him; and he yearned to see it, to fly among the stars.

And so he did.And after years and years of adventures, battles, pain and loss; he came to rest, here, upon this rock.

Achh-To is a sacred place to the Jedi. The Jedi were born there, and he hoped they’d die there…How foolish I’ve been, he thought silently to himself. He felt like that boy back on Tattooine.Always jumping to mad conclusions, never his mind on where he was, or what he was doing…Reckless, whispered a small, familiar voice inside his head.

And he accepted it.And with that one singular thought in his head, he left the living force and transformed, into comic energy, becoming one, with the stars.
